Join Boston Children's Museum and the L.L.Bean Seaport Square store for a one hour guided kayak tour of historic Fort Point Channel. After a safety talk and brief paddle instruction, your L.L.Bean guides will launch you in your own kayak, and you'll set out for a guided, interpretive tour with your group. You'll experience the freedom of skimming across the water, learning about the ecosystem and history of the Fort Point area.
All necessary paddling and safety equipment is provided. The tours are for Museum visitors only, and there is no charge to Museum visitors. Visitors must sign up at Museum admissions desk. Class size is limited, places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Activity level: Easy
Minimum age: 8 (14 and under with parent or guardian)
What to Bring:
- Weather- and activity-appropriate clothing (preferably synthetic*)
- Water shoes or shoes you don't mind getting wet (closed-toe recommended)
- Personal prescriptions such as EpiPen or inhaler
- One quart of water (no glass bottles)
Outdoors at the Museum with L.L.Bean
Boston Children's Museum is delighted to partner with L.L.Bean Outdoor Discovery Schools to offer outside fun and learning to Museum visitors. Families can join in both water-based and land-based programs led by L.L.Bean Discovery School instructors. Wednesday kayaking and Tuesday under-the-tent programs are free to Museum visitors. Paid L.L.Bean Kayaking and Paddle Boarding classes are also available at additional times.
