Science Explorations: Zoetropes

Please note: all programs and events will not be held during the Museum’s closure. Print Page
Saturday, April 20, 2019 - 9:00am to 9:50am
6 and up

Science Explorations happen throughout the day. Check the TODAY sign in the Museum lobby for hours. At other times enjoy self-guided discovery boxes.

Make your own moving picture. A zoetrope is a simple device that animates a series of pictures. Draw your own series of pictures such as a flower opening and closing, or the sun rising and setting. Watch as your brain merges the images together and they come to life. Develop math and science skills as you create patterns and cycles, observe, and experiment.
