Native Voices: New England Tribal Families Resources

Native Voices: New England Tribal Families was an exhibit project begun in 2010 at Boston Children’s Museum. The goals of the exhibit are to dispel stereotypes and correct misinformation; to develop appreciation for the ways in which Indigenous people have sustained, transmitted, and adapted their cultural traditions; to build awareness of the vitality and diversity of tribal nations in the Northeast region; and to inspire appreciation and the desire to learn more about native traditions among Native and non-Native visitors. The exhibit and programs were developed in partnership with all of the tribes represented.

Thanks to the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), this exhibit is touring the country. Though the resources below were created for use by and for museum staff and educators, we at BCM wish to make these resources available to anyone with a desire to learn more about Indigenous cultures and communities.

The Museum will close at 3:00pm Nov.12, and at 1:00pm Nov.23.

PlaySpace is closed for the construction of a new space for 0 to 3 year olds and their caregivers.
While under renovation, look for special Pop-Up PlaySpace experiences and programs throughout the Museum. Learn more about Pop-Up PlaySpace
