Healy has served as a Board member of the Museum for 5 years. He has been an integral part of the Board as chair of the Governance Committee as well as a member of both the Executive Committee and the Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion Task Force. He has been instrumental in helping to expand the Museum's digital footprint and recently spurred the creation of the Museum's Explore-It Virtual Summer Camp, which allowed employers to provide access to at–home Museum experiences for employees and family members during the summer of 2020 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Sun Life successfully piloted the program, and it was used extensively by employees working from home throughout New England and in other cities around the country.
"I am honored to contribute to Boston Children's Museum in this new capacity. For over 100 years, the Museum has been engaging children in joyful discovery experiences that instill an appreciation of our world, develop foundational skills, and spark a lifelong love of learning," said David Healy. "I look forward to continuing our mission, expanding our reach, and encouraging the innovative spirit of this wonderful organization to best serve children and families."
In his role at Sun Life U.S., Healy leads Group Benefits with an emphasis on serving client needs, building high performing teams, and leveraging technology to advance the business. Prior to joining Sun Life, Healy held roles at Keyport Life Insurance Company and Manulife Financial. Healy graduated from Providence College, where he received a Bachelor of Science in marketing. He holds an MBA, high honors, from Boston University.
"I am excited for what the future holds under David's leadership. He brings a wealth of strategic vision to the Museum, which will be critical as we emerge stronger on the other side of the pandemic," said Carole Charnow, President & CEO. "I am also deeply grateful to Nirav for his commitment to young families and dedication to furthering the Museum's mission."
