The Yellow Show Exhibit Opens At Boston Children's Museum

April 22, 2010
Local artists explore creative ways to work with yellow
(BOSTON, MA) April 22, 2010, Featuring the works of 16 local artists, The Yellow Show opens at Boston Children's Museum on April 24, 2010. Typically playful and diverse, this exhibit includes digital media, large-scale sculpture, paintings, drawings, and a mobile.

Boston's most unexpected art gallery resides between a workshop where kids are sawing away at wood blocks and an exhibit where families are spinning tops. "The Gallery" at Boston Children's Museum is hosting its 16th show since 2007 featuring the works of 16 local artists showcasing their "yellowy" best in The Yellow Show. Almost half of this juried show's featured artists are from the Fort Point Artists' Community. The Museum meets its mission of helping families to understand and enjoy the world around them by bringing the resources of the neighborhood inside for a closer look.

"For many Museum visitors, The Gallery display will be their first art-viewing experience," said Bridget Matros, the Museum's Arts Program manager and featured artist. "The artwork is creatively arranged in a small space and paired with simple signs that help develop ‘looking skills' and spark conversation."
