Join us for a dynamic performance of a traditional Chinese lion dance, with Nüwa Athletic Club. Watch performers mimic lions’ movements in a lion costume that represents good luck and prosperity. In Chinese and other Asian cultures, Lion Dances are typically performed during the Lunar New Year, and for other significant occasions.
Based in Boston, The Nüwa Athletic Clubs’s mission is to provide an environment for Asian- American girls and women to enhance their physical and emotional development through teamwork, sportsmanship and cultural activities, which includes but is not limited to lion and dragon dances.

Boston Children’s Museum is recognizing Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month throughout May, with a series of activities developed in collaboration with community organizations and independent artists.
