A Trike Called Funk Presents: The Big Beat Drumming Series

Join us outside on the plaza for an energetic 4-part drumming series where you can experience global rhythms through hands-on music making! Taking place July 19, July 27, August 3, and August 10, each session features a DJ spinning music, dancing, live percussion and a drumming workshop with local guest artists.

Our third installment features Devon Austrie, a Boston-based drummer and dynamic performer whose passion for music began when he first picked up a pair of drumsticks at just two years old. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Devon has since built a vibrant career performing at festivals, weddings, schools, churches, and community spaces. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and Europe, bringing his infectious rhythm and energy to a wide range of audiences. Deeply committed to the power of music beyond the stage, Devon sees drumming as a tool for connection, inspiration, and cultural expression. Visitors will experience an interactive session rooted in groove, energy, and the joy of live music.

Each session includes a funky dance warm-up led by A Trike Called Funk, followed by a featured artist-led workshop with time to freestyle and express your best moves!
