Spring into Play this April!

Monday, April 20th through Sunday, April 26th from 9:30am–3:30pm in The Common.

What’s your favorite play memory? Riding a bike outside? Camping out in a fort that you constructed? Playing with blocks, dolls, or games? Spring into Play at Boston Children’s Museum this April and during April Vacation Week, April 20–26, 2026. 

Create with cardboard, dress up, dance, sing, laugh, and have a pretend tea party in a month-long celebration of all things play. Join the fun during April and enjoy creative, hands-on, open-ended play! Come and experiment with familiar and unfamiliar materials, create with cardboard, and enjoy special performances in our KidStage theater

Moves ‘n’ Grooves
Wednesday, April 22
11am-12pm & 2-3pm
Come join us in Kidstage to dance, shout, move, and groove! All ages are welcome to participate. You can stay for as long or as little as you like while you dance along to grooves curated specifically for you and your little ones. Grab a scarf and show us your favorite moves!

Music & Circus Arts with the Rubin Brothers
Thursday, April 23 & Friday, April 24
11am-12pm & 2pm-3pm
Join us for interactive circus arts programs with musicians A.J. Rubin and Colescott Rubin. Two real life brothers who bring music, silliness, juggling, and more. Keep an eye out for updated details on our calendar.

Creative Movement Workshop with Urbanity Dance
Tuesday, April 22 & Thursday, April 24 
In this workshop visitors will explore Urbanity’s signature style of creative movement, blending a wide range of dance techniques with music, imagination, and exploration. Children will focus on flexibility, balance, and move in fun ways as they play, imagine, and explore—learning to follow directions, work with others, and find their individuality.

Breakdancing Cypher with The Floor Lords
Wednesday, April 23
Come experience one of the five elements of Hip Hop called ‘Breaking’—a style of dance that’ll have you spinning & grooving, led by The Floor Lords breakdance crew. Join the cypher, play around with a new move, and express yourself freely!

Play and Sway, with A Trike Called Funk
Friday, April 25
Play, sway, and dance with A Trike Called Funk! Join us outside the Museum from 10:30am–12:30pm.
