Boston Children’s Museum offers a variety of services to facilitate a smooth and welcoming experience. Visitor Experience Managers are always available to assist visitors with questions, needs, or concerns.
Accessibility
The Museum offers various programs and resources to enhance accessibility and inclusion for visitors with disabilities and other special/medial needs. Visit accessibility page to learn more.
Animals
With the exception of service animals, animals are not permitted.
Changing Tables
Baby changing tables are available in every restroom.
For an older child or adult who needs to be changed, a height-adjustable adult-size changing table is available in the first aid room. Please ask the staff to unlock the first aid room.
Cleaning Procedures
Boston Children’s Museum maintains hospital-level cleaning and sanitizing standards. Visitors are welcome to notify a Museum staff member if an area or object needs attention. If anyone in your party is not feeling well, please visit another time.

Coat Room
The coatroom is located on the first floor. This area is unattended; please do not leave valuables.
Directions
The Museum is close to Boston’s major highways and is easily accessible by public transportation, including the MBTA train, bus, and water taxi. Click here for directions.
Food & Drink
Food and drink are only allowed in the Museum’s first floor lunchroom. Please consider leaving nuts and nut butters at home. Learn more about the Museum’s Allergy Awareness program.
Inappropriate Language
Swearing and offensive language, verbal and on clothing, are not permitted.
Lockers
Lockers are available on the first floor. The Museum does not have additional storage for larger items that do not fit in the lockers, including large suitcases, car seats, scooters or bikes.
Lost and Found
Lost and found is located at the Information Desk on the first floor. If you have lost an item, please fill out the Lost and Found form.
Lost Persons
Caregivers are required to stay with their children (under the age of 16) at all times during their visit and should have a plan in place in case of accidental separation. If a child and caregiver become separated, please notify a staff member. The Museum has a procedure in place for reuniting children and caregivers.
Nursing & Pumping
Caregivers are welcome to nurse or pump wherever they feel comfortable. PlaySpace provides a private space.
Maps
Museum maps are available at both Admissions and the Information desk. The Museum offers maps in the following languages: Cape Verdean Creole, English, French, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Somali, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese. Smoking
Smoking is not allowed on Museum property.
Strollers
Stroller parking is limited and some exhibits cannot accommodate strollers. Please consider leaving strollers at home or using a smaller umbrella-style stroller. Strollers may be left in our unattended coat room or remain with you during your visit. Please refrain from leaving strollers in high-traffic areas. Valuables should not be left in unattended strollers.
Unaccompanied Adults
Any adult who wishes to visit the Museum without a child must leave a government-issued photo ID at our Admissions desk. Once checked-in, adults will be required to wear an “Unaccompanied Adult” badge at all times. At the end of the visit, adults will turn in their badge and their photo ID will be returned. This policy is in effect for all adults without a child in his/her presence and is in place for the safety of our youngest visitors. Please note that the Museum defines an adult as any person age 16+.

Adult and child-size wheelchairs are available at the Admissions Desk.
