A Trike Called Funk Presents: The Big Beat Drumming Series

Join us outside on the plaza for an energetic 4-part drumming series where you can experience global rhythms through hands-on music making! Taking place July 19, July 27, August 3, and August 10, each session features a DJ spinning music, dancing, live percussion and a drumming workshop with local guest artists.
Kicking off the series is master percussionist Cornell Coley, who brings over 40 years of experience in Afro-Latin, Brazilian, and Caribbean rhythms. Come to play unique instruments like the Talking Drum or Cuíca, and learn about the global roots of modern music we listen to today.
Each session includes a funky dance warm-up led by A Trike Called Funk, followed by a featured artist-led workshop with time to freestyle and express your best moves!
