Celebrate Kyoto! - Boston Kyoto Sister Cities 65th Anniversary

Join us to celebrate the Boston Kyoto Sister Cities 65th Anniversary through Taiko drumming performance, Shishimai lion dance & parade, Shikishi art making, Origami, and many more!

Don’t forget to visit the Japanese House exhibit – an authentic 140-year-old house. It was a very special gift from Kyoto to Boston on the 20th Anniversary of their Sister Cities relationship in 1979.

Activities (Please note that some programs have limited seating available)

• All day – Display of Haiku Expressions about My Family!, by Boston Public School Students & Japan Airline Foundation, the Common (Floor 2)
• 11:00 – Shishimai Lion Dance by Steve Long & Ako Hiratsuka, the Japanese House (3rd floor)
• 12:30 – Taiko Drumming workshop with Odaiko New England, the Common (2nd floor)
• 1:30 – Taiko Drumming Performance by Odaiko New England, the Common (2nd floor)
• 1:50 – Shishimai Lion Dance by Steve Long & Ako Hiratsuka, the Common (2nd floor)
